Robotic Pick-and-Place Cell

Multi-axis robotic cell coordinating Fanuc and Yaskawa Motoman arms with vision-guided product selection.

The Challenge

Multi-SKU picking on an indexed conveyor.

Picking variable-orientation product off an indexed conveyor escalates the moment you add a second SKU. The brief: a robotic cell that handles multiple SKUs without operator intervention, with vision for orientation correction, and a clean hand-off to downstream packing.

The Solution

Two arms, one PLC, vision per cycle.

Fanuc for the precise pick, Yaskawa Motoman for the larger-envelope place — coordinated through a single PLC. Vision reads orientation and SKU per cycle. A cycle-to-cycle handshake eliminates collisions without a sequencer bottleneck.
